How Does an Economizer Work?

The heat energy carried by hot gases discharged from the boiler chimney is transferred to the water passing through the pipes inside the economizer. Thus, the temperature of the water entering the boiler is increased and the amount of fuel the boiler will spend to evaporate this water decreases significantly.
